To Lexi with Love!
My Branksome Yearbook Submission for Lexi’s Graduating Year – parents were asked to submit a passage for the yearbook.
Dear Lexi,
The years have flown by and it is hard to believe that you are graduating from high school and off to university. Each year I have recorded our family news in a letter at Christmas time. Here are some highlights that best describe you:
Age 2- Lexi’s nursery school teacher says she is outgoing and is always the first to try new activities.
3-Lexi’s favourite activity at school is the daily craft and as you can imagine our kitchen is adorned with her lovely artwork.
4- Lexi lost her spot in the double-stroller this summer, yet manages to keep up on our walks riding her two wheeler- without the training wheels!
5- If there is ever a dull moment in our house, Lexi can be found at her desk, busily making stories, cards and crafts. There isn’t a scrap of paper in our house that doesn’t have Lexi’s mark on it.
6- Lexi loves to wear costumes and is famous for disappearing during a party at home and reappearing as a princess, cat, bride or Cinderella.
7- The moment I was proudest of Lexi this year, was on her first day entering a new school mid-year. With remarkable poise and confidence, Lexi entered her new classroom without a backwards glance. Within days she had her first playdate invitation.
8- Lexi went to Glen Bernard Camp for her first overnight camp experience. As the bus pulled away, I wept with pride, so pleased for her to be following in my footsteps.
9- Lexi heralded the Christmas season this year, singing in the Angel Choir at a local Christmas pageant. Seeing her on stage, with her angel costume, halo and cherubic smile, she resembled an angel.
10- In September, Lexi was elected Prime Minister of her class, where her slogan was, “Lexi Hill- Girl on the Go!”
11- Lexi loves her sports and enjoys many activities over the course of the year, including skiing, tennis, swimming, soccer, cross-country running, jazz and hip-hop.
12- Lexi is growing like a weed and requires frequent trips to the mall, much to her delight, to replace her outgrown clothing. Lexi is a keen babysitter and loves to spend her own money on these shopping excursions.
13- Lexi loves school. She enthusiastically joins every team, club and committee and is so busy, we hardly see her.
14- Lexi is extremely organized and could probably give a lecture to other students on how to take notes, organize binders and stay on top of schoolwork.
15- Lexi is at a new school- Branksome Hall. It has been a seamless transition and she hasn’t looked back. She has made lots of new friends and loves it!
16- It is hard to believe that Lexi is learning how to drive and has started touring universities. Lexi was thrilled to qualify once again, for the Ontario Cross-Country Running Finals.
17- Lexi is working very hard at her rigorous IB Diploma Program, striving to achieve the marks she will need to get into the university of her choice. So far, she is right on track and we couldn’t be prouder!
As you carry on life’s journey, the Christmas letter entries will surely tell the tale of a young woman, passionate about life, and on the road to great accomplishments. Look-out world, here she comes!
With lots of love,
Mom and Dad
